Manage VMware View desktops with ConfigMgr
In my last blog I talked about Obsolete clients in ConfigMgr. This happens during multiple deployments on the same device. There is also a known issue between ConfigMgr in combination with VMware View. Till VMware View v4.0 there was no refresh option possible, so when deleting and provisioning a new VDI desktop, a new object gets created in ConfigMgr collections.

Deploying Software Updates in ConfigMgr 2012
Now Patch Management is configured right, Software Updates will be deployed to all devices with the ConfigMgr client installed. You may want to see what's the difference in this new release. I have some screenshots created for you then. When updates are available for the device, an icon will be displayed in the System tray. This will blink when a reboot is required. When rightclick on this icon, different options will be available.

VDI comes in two flavors: Server-Hosted VDI (centralized, single-user remote vDesktop solution) and Client-Side VDI (local, single-user vDesktop solution). a full coverage of Desktop Virtualization can be found here. Onlangs kreeg ik de volgende vraag in mijn mailbox: Ik heb een probleem met een certificaatfout bij outlook web exchange. Onze server is https://61.236.1.137/exchange zodra je deze site bezoekt krijg ik de foutmelding. Nieuwe gebruikers met thuis Windows Vista kunnen nu helemaal niks meer door deze foutmelding. Bij navraag bleek het te gaan om een server met Small Business Server 2003 die blijkbaar netjes geconfigureerd is met de Configure E-mail and Internet Configuration Wizard (CEICW)...
